you'll see this when your in between phases of life

If you're reading this, you probably feel lost or stuck.

But the truth is—you’re just in the phase nobody talks about.

You're in between who you once were and who you're becoming.

I've found myself in this space many times before, and I know I'll return to it again.

It's that unsettling stage where you no longer feel at home in your own skin—because you're shedding your old one.

Even familiar faces—friends, family—start to feel distant.

The world around you carries a strange, unfamiliar weight.

This is where most people quit.

They set out on a new path, excited for change, but when they reach this unfamiliar territory, doubt creeps in.

They don’t belong to their old life anymore, but their new one still feels impossibly far away.

If you don’t recognize this as a normal phase of transformation, it’s easy to lose confidence in your journey.

You might slip back into old habits, especially if you're still surrounded by people who only see the old you.

This is why so many people get stuck in a cycle—bouncing back and forth between the old and the new, never fully stepping into the life they set out to build.

It’s what many call beginner hell—where growth feels slow, painful, and never-ending.

But if you stay committed—if you push through—eventually, you do cross over.

You meet new people who align with your vision.

Your new habits become second nature.

Your environment shifts to reinforce your growth.

Then, something incredible happens.

What used to take a year now takes a few weeks.

The change that once felt slow suddenly happens all at once.

This is the power of sticking with the process.

This is why getting yourself into a higher-level environment changes everything.

Growth becomes exponential.

Success becomes inevitable.

But here’s the problem—

Most people never make it to this point because they don’t know how to navigate the in-between phase.

They get stuck in uncertainty, waiting for clarity or motivation before taking action.

The good news? There’s a process for making it through.

If you follow these steps, you’ll come out on the other side stronger, clearer, and fully aligned with the person you’re becoming.

Here’s how:

  1. Detach from Your Old Identity

The biggest thing holding you back from becoming the person you want to be is your ego’s refusal to let go.

Most people never change because they cling to their past identity, believing that who they’ve been will somehow get them to where they want to go.

But it won’t.

You have to release the way you perceive yourself—the identity you’ve built and the labels you’ve attached to.

Your self-image shapes your thoughts.

Your thoughts shape your actions.

Your actions determine your trajectory.

Understand that you are not a fixed being—you are constantly evolving.

Nothing in the universe stays still.

Everything is either growing or decaying.

The same applies to you.

When you align with this natural law, life unfolds as it should.

The reason most people stay stuck is that they resist change.

Humans are creatures of habit, and change feels uncomfortable—but avoiding it only delays your progress.

The sooner you detach from your old identity, the sooner you become who you're meant to be.

  1. Embrace the Discomfort

As you shed your old identity, discomfort will settle in.

This is a natural part of growth. You’re not just changing—you’re becoming someone new.

And with that transformation comes uncertainty, resistance, and the urge to turn back.

But growth isn’t about avoiding discomfort—it’s about learning to exist within it.

Change isn’t a one-time event; it’s a lifelong cycle.

Again and again, you’ll find yourself at the edge of who you were and who you’re becoming.

Each time, the discomfort will return. Each time, you must embrace it.

The resistance you feel isn’t a sign to stop—it’s proof that you’re on the right path.

Nobody evolves in comfort.

We grow when we push beyond our limits, when we lean into the unknown, when we step fully into what we’re capable of becoming.

  1. Build the new before you feel ready

Part of what it means to embrace discomfort is to start when your not ready.

If you wait around in life to feel totally ready all of the time to make a decision or take action you will be waiting around your whole life.

To truly go from one phase of life to another and get to that next level of growth you need to build the new you before you feel ready.

The fear and doubt you experience are actually signs that you’re on the right path toward growth.

Think of it like being in the gym, aiming for a new personal record on the bench press or barbell squat.

You’re about to lift a weight you've never attempted before, and it’s going to feel uncomfortable and uncertain.

But the adrenaline that comes with that fear pushes you to rise to the challenge, helping your body adapt to the new weight.

The same applies to every area of life.

Fear can be the force that drives you to do things you’ve never done before, forcing growth and making you stronger in the process.

The world belongs to those who take action without fear of failure and are willing to adapt as they go.

  1. Get around people who reinforce your growth.

To truly change for good, you must curate your environment—especially the people in it.

Do whatever it takes to surround yourself with the best, and let go of those who no longer align with your vision and purpose.

This might mean changing jobs, moving to a different city, or networking with like-minded individuals online.

Your environment should reinforce positive thoughts, actions, and energy.

Napoleon Hill calls this a Mastermind Alliance—a group of two or more people united by a common vision, working together to bring it to life through the power of infinite intelligence.

No one is strong enough to carry the weight of those unwilling to move forward.

You need people around you who have the desire to grow, to level up, and to pursue their own dreams.

Desire is not something you can teach. As Napoleon Hill states in Think and Grow Rich:

"The starting point of all achievement is desire. Keep this constantly in mind. Weak desire brings weak results, just as a small fire makes a small amount of heat."

When choosing who to grow and build with, look for those who still have the hunger to expand.

Many people settle, not because of their age, background, or abilities, but because they’ve lost the desire to keep going.

Desire keeps you young. It’s the foundation of a productive, fulfilling life.

Make sure your circle is filled with people who crave growth, wealth, and prosperity.

You’ll need them on this journey.

If you can learn to push through these in-between phases of life—often lasting years—you’ll experience exponential growth and achieve things you never thought possible.

With enough time and focus, there are no real limits.

Most people never reach their potential because they get trapped in beginner hell—that frustrating stage where nothing makes sense, and all the effort feels like it’s leading nowhere.

But in my experience, the moment you feel like quitting is usually when your next breakthrough is just around the corner.

Keep going, G.

Hope this helps.
